THE LADY IN THE PICTURE

The 2nd poem I've chosen to get me caught up with my Blog's intention of posting a poem a week from my book entitled: "All Kinds of Poems for All Kinds of People. I was inspired to write this poem after looking at a picture of myself, that gave the impression that I'd 'already arrived at having achieved all of my goals!" I hadn't at that time though, so this poem is entitled:

THE LADY IN THE PICTURE

I had a picture taken and it turned out really Great,
In it, I seemed to Rule my World, My Power is Innate.
My eyes gleam of desires, that boldly speak my Truth,
My expression shows experience I learned while in my Youth.

My smile is quite inviting, as I offer you a Peek,
To Journey to your own world, Your Destiny to Seek.
I stand Proud and Tall as my 'I AM' is Proclaimed,
Envisioning my future--Living it the Ultimate Aim.

Why do I view there, just a 'fascimile' of what could be,
Why don't I walk in its glory, To begin the 'Inner Me?'
Why does it face me daily, A reminder just to show,
The 'Me' I want to be... which I have yet to know?

I must face all the demons, that have kept me cloaked in fear,
And make all my desires, Concrete, Concise and Clear
Because real goals need a time frame, an action item for them all,
It's time to LIVE THE PICTURE... and remove it from the wall!

UNIVERSAL LAWS

I can see I'd fallen behind with my intention to post a poem each week here from my poetry book, "All Kinds of Poems for All Kinds Of People" In light of that fact, I will post two today, to get me caught up. This one is entitled:

UNIVERSAL LAWS

When working with the Universe,
Know that one thing is true,
The things you really believe in life,
Are what you'll create for you.
Fear certainly is not a rule,
Unless you deem it so,
If this then, is your inner belief,
Fear follows where you go.
If scarcity is what you believe,
Despite the truths I say,
Then situations will occur,
To maintain your life that way.
For your True Self is Light and Free,
It soars beyond the skies,
But it seems bound and shackled,
When we first believe "The Lie."
The one that says "we're powerless,
That we have no control,"
The one that says "It's not my fault,"
Know now, you play a role.
Know that what you give in life, Is what you will receive,
And each of us will give or get,
According to our beliefs.
Don't rationalize, but Visualize,
You can fulfill your every need,
The understanding of this Law,
Is key for you to heed.
The strength that you can tap into,
Is the Power of your mind,
We've been taught by a great teacher,
"If we seek, then we shall find."
As a man or woman thinketh,
It's been said, so is he or she,
So think Love, Think Abundance,
Think Happiness, Think Free.
Think Caring, Think Oneness,
Think Forgiveness, Think Health,
Always create the Grandest Version
Of your Vision of your 'Self."
No more acting weak and thinking small,
That doesn't serve a cause,
Learn to Live and Love the Principles of
"True Universal Laws!"

VICTORY vs DEFEAT

This particular poem from my poetry book, 'All Kinds of Poems for All Kinds of People,' is from the section entitled 'Going Through the Valley Poems,' and reflects times in our lives when it proves challenging... to say the least, to remain upbeat and optimistic.

VICTORY vs DEFEAT

I used to be a mountain peak
Standing tall and high
But now it's darkness that I seek
And I'm not at all sure why

I used to think 'simply believe'
For my heart to achieve,
But now I feel those words no more
And my Spirit cannot soar

I used to think 'just one more try,
I know I can't be beat,'
But now I think, 'What's the use--
My middle name's 'defeat'

For there's a word I have not known
It's seldom gained by me
That word is just 7 letters long---
And it is 'Victory'

I've spent a lifetime in it's pursuit
Only to learn dismayed,
From me, it's task is to elude
Fate shows me this each day

The question I must ask myself
Though I delight in others' cheer
Is one I've asked a million times--
What am I doing here?

THE FROG

As previously discussed, each week, I am adding a poem from my poetry book entitled: "All Kinds of Poems For All Kinds of People" on my blog. This particular inspirational poem in the book, was written by one of my daughters, Elizabeth Brantley when she was in middle school.

THE FROG

While sitting on a small bench
In the middle of the park,
I rested my eye on a small frog
Clinging to a near tree's bark.
As he struggled to climb, but failed,
A question came to me,
"Why don't you swim with the other frogs," I started
"Instead of trying to climb that tree?"
And then the frog turned to me
With a little froggy grin
and said "They do the same thing everyday:
they're always out swimming.
And when all those frogs are tired
At the end of every day,
They've truly accomplished nothing:
And the day has been wasted away!
Now I ain't afraid of swimming,
And I ain't afraid of fun,
But I AM afraid of heights
And that fear, I'd like to overcome.
And if I climb this whole tree,
Sure the end of this day will still be here,
But I would have done something worth a day's work,
I would have conquered my biggest fear!

REINCARNATION

A fantastic life I have--Oh wait, it's gone too soon,
I'm placed in a casket--my wooden cocoon.
But it's not me there,
For the body's not being saved,
It's only a shell that's being placed in a grave.
For soon after my last breath,
I moved towards the light,
Embraced by Spiritual Siblings,
To accompany my flight.
I'm given all the answers to my life journey's quest,
And shown how my spirit can grow at its optimum best.
I take a 'short vacation,' before choosing to descend,
Another womb to start from, as our journey doesn't end!

THE SECOND COMING

As I come to the Master, my question to ask,
What is my Reason for Being--My Spiritual task?
Why are we here, please tell me now,
I want to fulfill my Purpose, but I just don't know how.
You said 'Ask in your name,' it shall be given to us,
But who do I turn to, whom can I trust?
I want to share in your kingdom, but if it's not of this world,
How do I uncover the secret of that pearl?

"My Kingdom is not of this world, it is true,
It resides within each and every one of you.
My coming was in physical form, for the first time,
The 'Second Coming' refers to a changed heart and mind.
You possess the power to free your world of grief,
By allowing only powerful thoughts to be released.
These words are not new, so don't be at odds,
For haven't I said: "That Ye are Gods?"
There's a Power within you, waiting to be tried,
It can't be extinguished, and it won't be denied.
The Powers you seek, you already possess,
In all things in life, put IT to the test.
My siblings follow me through their own choice,
For the sheep will recognize the Shepherds voice.
You have all the strength that I have in me,
Indeed, that is the Truth that sets you free.
These words are given through the ages of old,
They've been physically written--and verbally told.
They've been repeated through time and through space,
They've been added to and changed, but they can't be erased.
They've been tried and tested and stood through the light,
They've supplied courage and wisdom, love and insight.
They've healed the sick and evened the score,
Comforted the lonely, and made rich the poor.
Given Light to those who only saw dark,
And made the 'impossible' a walk in the park!
For those with the courage, who've answered My call,
Through them, there's been freedom and justice for all.
I've given blessings in my name on demand,
I've assisted the meek in taking a stand.
I've helped the spiritually blind to see,
All good has come directly from me.
Although the best of you sometimes stumble and fall,
I've helped you to once again, stand proud and tall.
And when your world was ready to blame,
I've wiped away all accusations and shame.
I've raised the mountains, I've calmed the sea,
I've let you know there's no limit to what you can be.
Seek answers from Within, do not be distressed,
Simply visit with Me, in your Higher Consciousness.
These words that you hear, need not cause fear,
Christ is not 'coming,' HE'S ALREADY HERE!

I HAVE A SPECIAL MIRROR

"I HAVE A SPECIAL MIRROR"

I have a special mirror,
That reflects more than I see,
Not just my 'outer' self,
But the True, real 'Inner' Me.
My Mirror uses rays of Love,
With pictures that are Kind,
It assists me in my efforts
To reach within to Find:
My Truth, My Patience, My Dignity, My Love,
Everything I received before descending from Above.
I have a Special Mirror,
That reflects just what I see,
My 'Self' at different stages, developing the True Me.
It can never tarnish, the images it shows,
But assists me on the path where I say I want to go.
It doesn't 'scold' or 'threaten' or use tactics based on fear,
It simply whispers gently, into my 'Inner Ear.'
I can visualize the choices of the roads that I may Take,
Understanding as I go, I'm the one who does Create.
As circumstances and events are all a part of what I Choose,
I learn not to blame outside forces, As I create my own Truths.
My Mirror can't be carried, lost, packed away, or Left,
It goes where ever I go, It is my 'Higher Self.'
I have a Special Mirror, It's Within from up Above.
To Guide, To Train, To Teach,
For the Mirror is PURE LOVE!

COUNTDOWN TO 2012

While others may be lamenting the 'doom and gloom' of 2012, let me be the first to remind you: That which we think about--we bring about, in our lives. So... if you want to enjoy health, think health. For prosperity, think abundance. For a full rich life, that has wonder, joy and happiness, think upon and focus on those things.

For as one begins to focus, one sees a bit more clearly, and it is with clarity that one is able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. Not literally of course, but certainly spiritually, financially, individually, collectively and physically. How much greater is life when we are using it doing the things we love? And beyond that--helping others in the process. So that they too, can begin to live the lives they've always envisioned for themselves.

Each week for the remainder of the year, I will post a poem from my poetry book, "All Kinds of Poems for All Kinds of People." Below is the first one in this series:

OBAMA WATCHERS EVERYWHERE

STOP THE OBAMA PRESSURE!

(S.T.O.P.)

He has been dubbed as ‘The One,’ as well as ‘THAT One! He has been hailed as the ‘Messiah,' the ‘Second Coming’ and the ‘Prince of Peace.’ His name has been denigrated, exaggerated, under-rated and mutilated. Said to be ‘The Man Who Would Be King,’ to “Our Kingdom has finally come.” He has been said to: ‘See the Dream, Be the Dream, Fulfill the Dream and Complete the Dream!

We have discussed his birthright as well as his birthplace. His ethnicity as well as his authenticity. His audacity and his sincerity. All of his past, his current present and his distant future. Throughout history, it has been a rare instance when one man has given so much of himself to so many in such a short time span.

We have placed under a microscope his inspirations, his aspirations and his exaltations. We have said he’s too white—not black enough, too black—not white enough, and in some cases not either!

"Barack Hussein Obama" has begun a new era of change. Perhaps not ACTUAL change, because that can only come TO the people, FROM the people! Change is not garnered in quietly overnight—unless we as a species deem it so! Throughout the bulk of his public speeches, President Obama has enlisted the understanding of the people—and not just Americans mind you, that we must all come together to effect positive change—in all areas of our lives: Personally, Spiritually, Physically, Financially and Socially. If it were possible for one man—or woman to institute such change alone—it would have been accomplished by now! But with all of our pontificating, all of our scrutinizing, all of our postulating, finger-pointing, name-calling and complaining, many fail to realize we are simply creating—with our thoughts and actions—more of the same!

Do you truly have a hope for a better, more brighter future? Do you truly long for change? Can you sincerely visualize peace and prosperity for all? Are you really ready to BE the change you want to see in the world? As Gandhi has stated: "There is no way to peace—peace IS the way." Are you planning to ‘get on board’ with our new "President, Barack Obama" and help in some way to usher in the changes he and millions of people say they want? You don’t have to be a staunch supporter of the President. You don’t have to beat the bandwagon with his concepts and ideas; it’s not even required that you seek out one of his many organizations to lend a helping hand. What IS required for change is that you look within your SELF and decide where in YOUR life you can make a positive, personal difference. Beyond that, it takes a commitment by your actions, to begin to implement that change, so that it’s a permanent mainstay in your life, affecting the lives of those around you in a personal, positive way. Then and ONLY then, can you truly say: "CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN—YES WE CAN!"

An Open Letter To... Parents with Teens

We are once again, reminded of what happens in the 'absence of abstinence' as part of the country focuses on "Sarah Palin" and her teen daughters pregnancy. I have heard comments such as: "I don't mind a woman being vice-president, but with 5 children of her own, one with special needs and a teen-aged pregnant daughter, perhaps she should focus on her family more." Or; "If she had a serious, realistic talk with her daughter about safe sex, instead of that fantasy spin of 'abstinence only,' she would've supplied her daughter with a more realistic view of sex." And the mother of all safe-sex comments: "Sex is natural and naturally teens are going to engage in it, we may as well educate them on how to do it properly to prevent unwanted pregnancies, STD's, and give them the tools to assist them in being mature and responsible for their actions."

My first thought is: How do we know that "Sarah Palin" didn't have a frank, honest discussion with her daughter? I've had many 'discussions' with my daughters and while they are all in their early 20's and are not parents, nor have ever been pregnant (to my knowledge at least) they have done other things in life which I would never have imagined. Let's face it, even with all of the parental pontificating that we do, once teens become a certain age—and it's different for each one, they begin to make their own choices, just like adults, good or bad, which will either reward them or have them enduring the consequences of those choices.

As a parenting instructor for Michigan State University's, 'Building Strong Families' program, I have worked with many families who have experienced various challenging times, and while working as a Conflict Resolutionist within the High Schools, I have also experienced the anxiety of parents who were suddenly faced with the teen pregnancy issue. Not surprisingly, the majority never thought it would 'happen to them.' Why everyone always thinks it happens to 'someone else,' is beyond me. Parents, Teachers, Society— Our children are sexually active. They're sexually active at a young age. They're sexually active in the early morning hours, in the afternoon, before school, during break, after school and while out on dates. I'm sorry to be the bearer of this news, but someone has to say it.

That being said, we too, have choices. We can continue to think it'll happen to 'someone else' and be surprised when we discover we're that 'someone,' we can tell our kids to 'just say no,' and hope that works,(seeing how well that worked in the War on Drugs program—but I digress) we can talk with our kids on a regular basis in relation to the many resources, tools and information available to make wise decisions based on maintaining their health and their own personal goals, and we can at the very least, communicate with them during all stages of their young adulthood and know that as parents, we have taken the necessary steps to ensure we have at least supplied our children with the needed information to make a decision based on actual facts and realistic data.

I know what it's like to have a 16 year old daughter come to me to tell me she 'thought' she was ready to become sexually active. I advised her I'd like to explore that option with her and her 'intended partner.' But after looking at some examples of her own high school friends, seeing how they were not able to complete an high school education due to leaving school early in order to have a baby and then postponing their education to 'rear their children,' she quickly told me perhaps she'd 'wait awhile' before going that route. That doesn't mean that everyone will come to that decision, but in the interim, she was also supplied with the information to prevent that situation from occurring. It still stands to reason that an ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure. I didn't 'suddenly’ talk with my daughter. I'd been talking with them since their youth and beyond. I was an avid volunteer at their schools and knew each of their teachers. No matter what stage you're in with your parenting, it is never too late to begin to cultivate a respectful, communicative, loving relationship with your children.

At one point, I had been asked to teach an 'Abstinence Only' course. After reviewing the curriculum and noting that I could not have ANY mention of condoms, safe sex, STD's or the like, even if a parent broached the subject, I advised that I would not conduct such a class. It is one thing to teach abstinence as an option, another tale altogether when we expect that it—and only it will solve the teen pregnancy debacle. We can clearly see what happens with a nation that continues to bury its’ head in the sand when it comes to speaking factually and openly about sex.

We can continue on this well-worn path, and wonder why, in 2011, we still have staggering numbers in relation to teen pregnancies, or we can determine what 'we've been doing all along,' simply isn't working as we'd hoped or envisioned. It's up to us to forge a different way of thinking. To teach it, live it and experience it. There will always be the camp that says: "But this is how we've always done it." And like the wise person who initially approached that type of mentality with the age-old question, I ask: "And how has that been working so far?"

THE VOTING AGE

TO VOTE OR NOT TO VOTE?

As the famous line goes: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times." Talk about a shift in our financial world view! In just a few mere weeks, America has gone from being perceived as being 'The King of the World,' to being exposed as: 'The Emperor Has No Clothes!' And it is more than likely going to get much worse, before things begin to have an up-swing and start to stabilize from there.

We're in a historic Presidential election year, not simply because of the obvious choices: A young, (semi) African-American male who has chosen a well-qualified, highly experienced white male as his running mate, against a much older, (past retirement age) white male who also has much experience, who has chosen a relatively unknown, young female as his running mate.

There are heated arguments brewing across the landscape today as to who will make the better candidate for the highest office in the U.S.—and why, encouraging more people to register to vote than ever before. So it has been interesting for me when more than just a few people have called me to say: "I just don't think I'm willing to vote this year!" I've heard it from siblings, co-workers and neighbors alike. I'm not sure what prompts it, but it always leads to even more discussion about the 'responsibility of every citizen to exercise their right to vote,' sprinkled with the lessons in life about the many men and women who have died to provide us with such a right.

FREEDOM MEANS HAVING CHOICES!

But we must remember: Freedom means being able to choose to do a thing... or NOT! Just as many of us choose to exercise our voting rights, we must respect those among us who choose the right to not vote. There are many reasons why people make the choices they make, and quite frankly, they are not obligated to explain them to anyone. While some feel the necessity to expound on their choices...there are some that do not. We will either respond in a way that shows we understand what true democracy is by allowing others to make decisions which we do not support, but by respecting their right to do so, or we will go against what 'true democracy' stands for, and vehemently, verbally attack and trod upon others rights, in our efforts to brow-beat them to our 'way of thinking.' There have certainly been times when I exercised my 'right to not vote,' and times when I felt compelled to do so, if for no other reason than to feel as if my vote, once cast, has given me a chance to be counted and heard... whether my candidate triumphed or not.

We are all exhausted with the information we're being bombarded with, as with any election year. We try to sift through the facts and fiction of what each candidate says about his/her opponent. Both are espousing 'change' and we certainly need that, if for no other reason than what we've collectively experienced and created has not worked so far, and unless we actually do something different, we will continue to experience what we're experiencing.

YOUR CHOICE

Your first choice may very well be that you have to decide if you're going to vote in this Presidential Election. After you've concentrated on all of the issues you care about, after you've made it clear to yourself what is important to you and the direction you'd like your chosen candidate to take, after sifting through the quagmire of information and misinformation, it will be up to you to decide whether or not to cast your vote, whether you want to be counted this time or not. Whatever the outcome, this is a time in history where we must come together and focus on all of the issues plaguing our great nation. There are many more 'Joe the Plumber' guys/gals here, and we must band together to ride this financial storm to its completion.

Collectively, it IS the worst of times for us... but depending upon your own personal choices... it could also be the BEST of times for YOU!

Dear Dr. Kervorkian;

You have no idea what you have done for me and my family. You are not there to see how I am remembered. You considered yourself ‘just doing a service,’ but that ‘service’ for me and my family was the ultimate gift!

In this day and age when most people have taken the privilege of liberties and freedoms to a new low, by spewing hate and fear among the masses under the guise of Freedom of speech, you are a hero to many who believe in the most ultimate freedom of all: The freedom to choose our own destiny in relation to death.

You have allowed a select few of us to go in peace and dignity. By our own choice, in our surroundings, and among great peril. Like us, you were able to see and understand that for some, clinging to life—without any quality of life—is no life at all.

For those who have not yet experienced, or have had loved ones experience the toll of being in constant pain 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for those whom the medication no longer has the numbing effect it was designed to deliver, for those of us whose painful sleepless nights began to turn into sleepless days with no end in sight, for those of us who truly understand that there is a time for our journey in this realm to come to a close, who no longer fear death, but accept and at times pray for it—you are our hero.

You have taken a stand, against all of the odds, and yes—you have suffered greatly on that battlefield, seemingly at times—alone. But we are here with you and we cheer you on. Sometimes we are the parents of a child whose body has suffered such tremendous blows physically, that only artificial life-support can keep them ‘alive,’ even amongst our protests to the courts. Sometimes we are the patients who have signed a 'Do Not Resuscitate Order,' which is not being honored by family members who are too much in their own grief, to respect the choices we’ve made, which would allow us to go quietly beyond. Sometimes we’re simply the reticent patient, too afraid to reach out to you, because of the stigma that society places upon that choice.

Of course with name-calling being the top weapon of choice these days, you have been called many, including but not limited to: Dr. Death, Doomsday Doctor and Dr. Death Panel. But your protesters have overlooked a very important fact: Your patients sought you out. We asked for your services. We were not forced or coerced to work with you. On the contrary, we were being forced to endure well beyond our point of endurance. We are not asking that those who do not care for your services be forced to utilize them, but we ask the same courtesy—that those that DO opt for your services, are given the freedom to do so without charge as well.

The irony of it is: None of us will get out of this ‘journey’ alive, yet for many, the ‘D’ (Death) word is still such a taboo, that even with all of the technological advances we have today, families still do not actively purchase life insurance policies or in many cases, do not keep them in force, families are at odds to even draw up a will, and the majority do not consider pre-planning for funeral costs or discuss final options to take care of those needs when the time arrives—and trust me—it will arrive.

Surely I cannot be the only one that think it odd that families spend more time in choosing their cell phone options than they do in deciding burial and funeral cost options? Imagine how much peace and tranquility can be afforded family members, if these things were taken into consideration before they become such needed purchases. Grief stricken families could suffer less, knowing the bulk of the planning has been discussed and being honored, as well as portions of it having been paid for in advance.

Your protesters cite many reasons why they feel your services are not welcomed or needed, but with any product or service one has choices—and they could simply choose not to use your most unique service. I am sure protesters, nor your supporters, would rally around their bedside, holding signs, insisting that they call you immediately.

In this world, life is full of choices. We simply ask that a dignified death has its’ options and choices as well!

BEST OF FRIENDS

“Best Friends”

Ever had a best friend you vowed never to lose contact with?

Ever swore you’d never let ‘anything’ come between you and your best friend—and then ‘something’ does? Ever repeated the mantra ‘“Best of Friends” ‘til the end?’

As the author of “Best of Friends,” I have also been dubbed the ‘Friendship Expert.’ I have culminated many friendships, from my kindergarten years, to the present. I continue to enjoy solid, wonderful relationships with friends that I’ve had for more than forty years. So I guess you can say it was destiny to have one of my books entitled “Best of Friends.”

I began a goal-setting friends group among a group of friends in my home state, Michigan, several years ago. Our goal was to have each member write down 3 to 5 monthly goals. Each meeting, we’d discuss our progress, remind ourselves to stay focused, and encourage each other along. In the interim, we enjoyed going out to movies, experiencing restaurants we’d never tried before, and just being connected to a ‘Sister Group.’ One of the member’s goals was to attend law school. Mine was to complete and publish a book, and still another’s was to buy a home.

Showing groups how to begin ‘Best of Friends Clubs,’ I share ‘the tips every friend should know:’

· Be willing to be open and honest about your fears, your desires and your strengths.

· Know what level of friendship you are offering—as well as what level you are willing to accept.

· Information revealed at your “Best of Friends Club” should be kept confidential—unless otherwise agreed upon. (For instance, a member who may be seriously contemplating hurting themselves—or others)

· Be encouraging, optimistic and sincere.

· HAVE FUN!

And what happened to the goals of the friends that I mentioned earlier? Well, the friend wanting to attend law school is now an Administrative Law Judge residing in the state of Michigan! The friend that desired homeownership, brought a beautiful, spacious home—complete with a swimming pool and I of course, completed my first published book—“Choices, The Power Is Within You.” I have gone on to publish three more books, and my second book, “Best of Friends,” has won two National Awards for ‘Best Fiction of The Year!’

There Is No “Secret” to Universal Laws

What would you do in your life, if you knew you could not fail? What if you prospered in all areas you encountered in your life? If you were blessed with the ‘King Midas’ touch and everything you attempted turned to gold, what monumental tasks would you tackle? Now with all of these goals in mind, what would you do with the knowledge that it truly is possible to achieve your dreams, reach your goals and create the experiences you really want to have? We have all purchased the books, watched the videos and heard the audio tapes. We get excited, pumped up and raring to go. Then somewhere along the path, we run out of steam, lose momentum, lose heart.

This is where I found myself prior to writing my book, “Choices The Power Is Within You.” After being clueless, homeless and hopeless, I experienced a divine revelation that caused me to take a deep breath and look, really look at what it was I was creating, and just as importantly, why. As a parenting instructor for Michigan State University and as a

Trained Conflict Resolutionist, I experienced conflict in its many forms: Aggressiveness, anger, passive aggression, blaming, humiliating others—and the list goes on. I now realize that there is no such thing as a conflict that can’t be resolved—only people unwilling to resolve conflict.

The Law of Attraction states: “What you focus on in life, you expand in your life.” Sounds simple—right? But as I explain in “Choices The Power Is Within You,” simple is not always ‘easy.’ And if we truly understood this law, then why is it we focus on what we don’t want? Such as unpaid bills, ill health, low-paying jobs, ungrateful kids, unhappy marriages and so on? The Universe is neutral—it doesn’t ask us to ‘reword’ our thoughts or change their format, it simply delivers to us what we are thinking! This is the reason why “as a man thinketh—so is he!” It is not that difficult to change your world simply by changing your thoughts. For in order for us to do anything—we must first ‘think’ about it! “Choices The Power Is Within You,” is an easy-to-follow read, with a built-in, work at your own pace workbook.
